no, tuuuuu, tweeeeee
My baby can count! We found out last night that not only can she count to three, she can throw some pretty mean gang signs. We will have to keep her out of California, fo sho! Seriously, she walked up to us and said "tuuuuuu" not quite like a normal sounding 'two,' but pretty good, none the less. So then we started counting and 'one' came out "no," which is funny because we hear that a lot lately, but it sounded like she was totally trying to say 'one.' She can say "wow" and "whoa," but not "one"'.....interesting. And 'three' came out pretty good as "twee." We were so excited. I am going to have to get out her baby book and write all this down. I haven't kept up with it very well.
Oh, and for the gang signs....when she came up and said "tuuuuuuu" she had her thumb and firts two fingers sticking out. (I am thinking that it may be hard for her to keep her two fingers up without her thumb.) Anyway, she did that on one hand and pointed them down, then she cocks her head to the side and does it with both hands in fron t of her chest, pointed down. I mean, she could have been Snoop Dogg's twin or something....it was so funny! I will have to get a picture of it....next thing I know she's going to sippin on some Gin and Juice....
later peeps!

ahhhhhh, much better!
Tonight was muuuuuch better! I have figured out that if I sing her songs in the car, she won't scream, she just says "happy" over and over again....that is my cue for the 'if you're happy and you know it, clap your hands' song. That is her most favoritest song.....evahhhhh! Alright, so I have to pack juice and cockles with me every day and I may buy a kids CD so I can spare her tiny ears. Anyway, we made it through the ride home and believe it or not, she was pretty okay at the house, there were a couple moments of whining and a tear or two shed, but no screaming, very little throwing and no hitting. It was sooooo nice!!! Have I mentioned that...how nice it was. We made it through bath time and milk to our new 7 p.m. bedtime and all is well in the McKittrick house. Mama can go to bed not so crabby tonight!

cocks and cockles
Three guesses on what these two things could be........in baby language.
Cocks = Socks
Cockles = Cookies
Would you have guessed that? Socks, maybe, but would you ever think that cockles were cookies? She started saying 'cockles' the week after Christmas, but I had no idea what it was until she picked up a box of cookies and said 'cockles.'

where did my child go?????????
I have to tell everyone about this, because if I don't get this out someone IS going to get hurt!!!!! I was trying to think of a title for this blog and so many came to mind 1) crying, screaming and whining....oh my! 2) my heathen child 3) child for sale 4) someone please take me away....where's Calgon when you need it?....just to name a few. I can safely say that there will be NO baby mcnuggets in my near future after this past week.
Ever since last Thursday my child has done nothing but cry and scream and whine and throw things and bang her head against the floor. The daycare says that she has been nothing but an angel.......I think they have her confused with another child, because she is not that angel at home. HEEEEELP! Is this the terrible twos? We went through this around 14 months and I thought she was hitting the terrible twos early, then she got better, now it's back to the fit throwing. I about beat her senseless last night......once again, she was mad at me for not letting her go outside and play 1) it is friggin cold 2)she has a cold and shouldn't be outside playing in the cold anyway. Well, that led to a full hour of fit pitching and screaming. She first threw her straw from her cup, then she threw the cup...I picked them both up and told her not to throw things...blah, blah....and turned around to go sit on the couch and right when my butt hit the cushion, it happened........the whole cup, FULL of juice, goes flying through the air and lands on my carpet.....pink juice everywhere! I lost it. I will admit, I lost it! Now, some people might not agree with what I am about to say, but might I remind you that every parent has their own "style." I spanked her (on the diaper) AND put her in time out. In my mind that called for double punishment! She had warnings and she knows better than to do what she did. She sat there and watched me clean it up without so much as a peep. It is amazing that she doesn't have red hair. I can't say much....she comes by it honestly. She is a happy child, really she is, but I think she misplaced herself because this is not my child.

first day at big girl school
Well, Emilia survived her first day of "big girl school," yesterday. She LOVED it! Well, I am assuming that she loved it. For those who don't know, Emilia started at O2B Kids College at Hunters Crossing yesterday. They said the only time that she cried was at nap time, which I expected, but that was it. She ate most of her lunch and snacks and she took a short nap and played her little self silly. They said that she made friends and p[layed well with others, and may possibly even have a new boyfriend, Mason. I have yet to meet this Mason boy, but I am going to have to scope him out soon. Maybe he was the little boy with the cute cowboy boots that I saw the other day...maybe not. Who knows!?!?!?!? Anyway, she had a good day!

18 month words
Since spending the last 11 days at home, Emilia is picking up the English language quite well. I have to say that I am pretty damn proud of the 5 words that she learned this week....yummy (ummy), yucky (ucky), cup, bowl, and thanks, which comes out something like doss, dosh, and danks....you never know what you are going to get, but you know what it means. I guess it just took a little time away from the Spanish to really concentrate on the English. Those, she picked up, just since Monday. I am proud. So far her words are: Mama, Dada, Mommy, Daddy, MiMi, Knee, Cup, Bowl, Yummy, Yucky, Juice, Shoes, Thanks, Ball, Book, Potty, Pee-pee, Poo-poo, Bird, Squirrel, and of course, most of the animals are just woof-woofs and quack-quacks and so on.....she shrieks for cats. It's amazing how you can understand your own child, but you have no clue what other children are saying and no one can understand your child either. It's funny, oh well, just wanted to share that the English is coming right along.
