sayings

This morning, as Emilia was sitting on the potty, she says to me, "Mommy, you need to baccuum the bed where I peeped in it."

I love that girl! She cracks me up!

EM's first beach trip!

Long time, no blog!
This past weekend, we took Emilia to the beach for the first time. I absolutely loathe sand, so I wanted to make sure that she could truely appreciate the beach before we took her. The weather was absolutely perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better beach day!
I think it is safe to say that she enjoyed herself and was completely worn out. We didn't even make it to US 1 before she passed out.
Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

emilia-isms

You know, kids really do say the darnedest things! On Tuesday, this is what she says to me...

"Mommy!" (as she sticks her hand down her pants) "My booty is about to sweat!"

After that, we go for a walk and this is what she says...

"Mommy!" (that is always a sentence. it is followed by a long pause) "I need your sunglasses, I don't want my eyes to get hot."

Where do they come up with these things?

finally...getting somewhere

Well, I talked to the ENT at Shands today and we set up an appointment for Emilia on 3/30 at 8:30. We will know more about the sleep apnea then, and hopefully we can go ahead and schedule the surgery that day as well. Keep your fingers crossed!

long time, no blog

Hello everyone!

Well, there has been so much going on and so little going on at the same time. Not much news to report on.

Emilia did have her sleep study and we are still waiting on the results. We should have them this week. They said it takes 5 - 10 days to get the 900 page report read, diagnosed and back over to the ENT. Friday will be 10 days. If no news by then, they are getting a call first thing in the morning. All this waiting sucks. On the bright side, prayers have been answered and Emilia has not been sick, so we haven't had to deal with any vomit in a few weeks. This is a nice break from the norm. However, my parents did have to deal with the vomit this past weekend.

Emilia went to Homasassa Springs this past weekend with my parents. We got a break and they got to have fun. It worked out all the way around...except for the vomiting in the car on the way down there. She definitely gets car sick!!! Poor thing. Anyway, she got to see all kinds of animals and she saw her first manatee. She loves them now. I heard great stories about the trip and how she made everyone laugh telling the animals to wake up. I can't wait to take her to all the fun places Florida has to offer.

That's about it on our end. Things are pretty okay and we are just putting right along. I hope that you have a super Monday and great rest of the week.

Peace!

more emilia news

Well, it has finally come to it. We went to see the ENT today and the tonsils are definitely coming out. Now we just need to figure who, what, when and where. Our first step is a sleep study. This is mandatory for all children under 4 who are getting their tonsils removed. I will spare you all the story, but this will tell us whether our usual ENT will be removing them as an outpatient surgery or if she will have an extended stay at Shands with a Dr. whom we have yet to meet. This is all very scary for me. I don't want my baby to have to STAY in the hospital. I don't want her to have to go through this at all, but it has to be done. It is agreed by all that she will be much better off with those pesky things gone. Anyway, say a big prayer for us. We will know within the week about when the sleep study will be done.

We also went to the dentist today....I know, the Dr. and the Dentist in one day. Yes, my night was hell, but she passed out at 8:15. I got an early night. Anyway, we thought there was going to be an emergency, but there isn't. Even though she is in pain and has to eat soft food, her teeth are perfect says the dentist. (which is amazing seeing as how little we brush them) Milk does a body good. And lord knows we go through some milk! Anyway, one of her top 2 yr. molars is still coming in and bringing a little bit of gum with it. We just have to brush a little more aggressively to push the gum back up. She did great at the dentist. Can I just say that I wish dentists were that cool when I was younger. We went to Kids Only in Haile Plantation and boy, it sure was nice. She got to watch Max and Ruby while they were looking in her mouth. TVs right over their head and a cool toy tower to get a toy from when they leave. She got a new Pooh toothbrush and some toothpaste and some princes floss picks, all in a cool little carry case. It was pretty nice.

In other Emilia news, her latest growth spurt has brought her up to 30 lbs. and she is 2 ft. 11 in. tall. She is almost out of a 2T. I didn't think I would see the day. She was always so tiny, or a Pixie as her Aunt Kristi calls her. She is getting so big. And sassy. If I thought she was spirited before....boy, was I wrong. She is nothing but sass.
