She is starting early! She found my fishbowl from Mardi Gras and got out all the beads, even the one she shouldn't have!

do unto others....................especially children!!!!
It will come back to haunt you!
Emilia decided that she was going to be the keeper of the toilet paper last night. She likes to go to the bathroom with me and keep a running commentary for anyone who will listen. So last night as I was going pee-pee potty, she kept asking me if I was done, even before I sat down, but anyway, she likes to hand me the toilet paper when I am done...she also like to try to wipe me, but that's a completely different story that I just will not get into...so, when I was done she got all excited and handed me this piece of toilet paper about the size of a quarter. She had the most serious look on her face and then said "Mommy, mo?" so I told her that yes, I needed more than that....she looks at me and giggles and says "Peas," like I should say "Please" for my toilet paper...so, I did. That wasn't good enough. I also had to sign it.
***side note*** Her daycare teaches them sign language as part of the curriculum.
So, long story short, I had to beg for my toilet paper last night. For about 5 minutes I had to say "please," and I had to sign for it each time I said it, which was funny because she kept telling me I wasn't doing it right. I kept watching her, but she would move her hands a little differently every time, so I got yelled at too, "No Mommy, tummy!" Every time I said /signed it, I was rewarded with another quarter size piece of toilet paper. It was actually quite funny and endearing, but it got old pretty quickly, so I just had to get the rest myself.
Moral of the story......when potty training, be kind and generous with the toilet paper because one day they may have to "teach" you or help you and they will remember that Mommy only gave them 1 square.
Happy Tuesday everyone, one day closer!

my smart girl
I don't know if this is appropriate for her age, developmentally, or if I just have a smart cookie on my hands. I choose to think she is brilliant, personally. Anyway, I have to tell you guys about what happened yesterday....
Emilia loves to play "night-night," so she grabbed my blanket off my bed and made me make a pallet on the living room floor so I could go night-night. She laid down beside me and then she jumps up with a gasp and says "book!" So, she goes and gets a book and comes back and proceeds to read me a book. (I have a big smile on my face just typing this) My baby read a book to me! It was Disney's Mealtime Fun and Mickey, Minnie and Pluto were eating and she would point to Minnie and say "Mommy," then she would point to Mickey and say "Daddy," then she would point to Pluto and say "Mussy." She can associate too! How AWESOME is that! Sometimes Pluto was Mussy and sometimes Pluto was Tucy, and sometimes he was Mussy-Tucy, but regardless, she can associate now instead of her just saying "puppy" when she sees a dog. Anyway, she continued to read to me, which was absolutely precious and gave me butterflies.
Later that night, we were trying to calm her down for bed time and she got a baby doll and a book, she put the baby doll in her lap and read to her baby. She was telling the baby what all the pictures were...it went something like this "Baby, airpane. Baby, airpane. Baby, row-row. (boat) Baby, puppy. Baby, juice." Then she grabbed her baby's hand and said "Baby, touch. Baby, airpane. Baby, touch. Baby, no touch." It was the cutest thing in the world! My heart just melted. She has developed quite the imagination!
I love her! (even though she drives me crazy!)

G.N.O. - 7.10.09
Whew, what a night! It so good to get together with your girlfriends and have a hell of a time! You certainly don't need alcohol to have a good time, but boy does it sure fuel it. This group of gals are tooooo much! My friend, Meredith (next to me), came to town from Tally for a much needed Girls Night Out. It was a good time with oysters, beer and a lemon drop!

wednesday rants and randoms
Well, Emilia is moving up to the 2 year room...as of yesterday. We are not extremely happy with this decision. It was a decision that was made and then ran by us for our opinion. She was supposed to move up in August, but during the transition time she has been having a really hard time going between the two rooms. She isn't one of those kids that just run out and try new things...the thinks long and hard about them and has to become familiar with her surroundings and then thinks some more about it before she does something. Since the transition has been hard on her, and, I am assuming, hard on the teachers with all her screaming and crying, they are "ripping the band-aid off, so to speak." I can see this is going to cause a problem. They said, developmentally, that she is ready for the move, however, I don't think that she is emotionally ready. She apparently attaches herself very deeply to people.
In other Emilia news, we have a new term in the house...."MY TURN." I got pushed off the scale the other day (the dreaded scale) and was told that it was her turn. She loves to get on the scale...I hope that this continues for her, because I sure as hell hate it! Lets see, her vocabulary is just growing more and more every day. She told me to "shut" the sunroof yesterday. And she finally said "sock" this morning, but then she called it a cock again and I guess that was the end of that. She has gone back to calling the Ritz Bitz cockles again. I tell you, I don't know where she comes up with this stuff. And thanks to my Mother-In-Law, she loves Ring Around the Rosey, but she calls that "Busy." I think because she hears us say that we are dizzy, so that's what she thinks it is...I don't know. Who knows with kids!?!?!?!? When she says "ice" it comes out as "ass." Cocks, cockles & ass.....
I guess that is about it...I am sure I have more, but my brain is fried seeing as how I was up 4 times with her last night...I guess it just wasn't a good night for her. All these changes!
Later, party peeps!
